Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

Environmental Performance Review (ERP) Launch Event: Ireland 2021

The International Transport Forum (ITF) is involved in the horizontal project with the ENV directorate on Environmental Review of Ireland. Environmental Performance Reviews (EPR) aim to provide an independent, evidence based assessment of countries’ progress towards its national and international environmental commitments. It is the first time ITF is involved in the OECD Environmental review, and it is relevant for the ITF in the context of:

  • Ireland being a presidency country
  • Previous engagement of Ireland with the ITF work on Shared Mobility
  • Overall relevance of the question of how to decarbonise transport sector to different work streams at the ITF

Jari Kauppila, Head of Secretary-General's Office and Head of Quantitative Policy Analysis and Foresight at the International Transport Forum, presents key transport-related findings from the Transport chapter of the OECD Environmental Performance Review of Ireland. His intervention follows those of Eamon Ryan, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Minister for Transport of Ireland, and Rodolfo Lacy, Director for the Environment Directorate at the OECD.
