The Decarbonising Transport in Emerging Economies (DTEE) project helps national governments and other stakeholders to identify transport measures and establish pathways to reduce transport CO2 emissions and meet their climate goals and NDCs.
The DTEE virtual kick-off in India makes it the fourth and the final country in which the project is officially launched. ITF Secretary-General Young Tae Kim and CEO of NITI Aayog, Amitabh Kant open the meeting. Mr. D.S. Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, and Mr. Giridhar Aramane, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, will also speak.
The online kick-off informs relevant stakeholders about objectives and planned activities on the project. The meeting gathers inputs regarding current and future transport challenges in India, and how they may relate to transport CO2 reduction ambitions. The discussions shape the project more specifically to India’s needs and circumstances.
