The Cycling Embassy of Denmark has given its annual Leadership Award for Cycling Promotion to Philippe Crist of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Crist works for the OECD's International Transport Forum and is a strong supporter of cycling. His award was presented at Velo-City Taipei. Previous winners of the award have included Tony Lo, CEO of Giant, and Mike Bloomberg, the former Mayor of New York City.
Marianne Weinreich, chairman of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark, said:
“Philippe’s work has proven invaluable in getting the international community to truly realise the huge benefits and opportunities in cycling. We hope that the award will prove an inspiration for him and others to continue promoting cycling on both a local, national, and international scale."
