Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

ITF/IBS Case Study Workshop

Japan is exploring new ways to improve multi-modal mobility for older people and rural residents. Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) under the Cabinet Office Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy is conducting this work that requires cross-sectoral and government initiatives. The Japanese Institute for Behavioural Sciences (IBS) is creating “Regional Mobility Redesigning Guidelines” for this project.  This includes methodologies for assessing regional mobilities, planning processes, data governance, and monitoring frameworks incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs).

ITF conducts several case studies on urban/mobiity planning to secure information for the guidelines document. This workshop will bring together some of the case study representatives, IBS researchers and ITF to learn about and discuss both policies and insights.
