Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

Accessing the ITRD Thesaurus

Accessing the ITRD Thesaurus

At the March 2010 ITRD Operational Committee, it was decided that the ITRD Thesaurus should be made more widely available to organisations. The Thesaurus was last updated in 2017 and this edition is available. Organisations or individuals wanting to make use of the ITRD Thesaurus must however bear in mind the following information:

The ITRD Thesaurus and its content is copyright of OECD/ITF - © OECD/ITF, 2017. All rights reserved.

Any redistribution or reproduction of part or all of the contents in any form is prohibited other than the following:

You may print, or download to a local hard disk, extracts for your personal and non-commercial use only. You may copy the content to individual third parties for their personal use, but only if you acknowledge the ITRD Thesaurus as the source of the material. You may not, except with our express written permission, distribute or commercially exploit the content, transmit it or store it in any other website or other form of electronic retrieval system.

The cost of using the thesaurus for these purposes is 2 000 Euros. It is free for ITRD members.

One of the unique aspects of ITRD are the four official languages represented in the database; English, French, German and Spanish, and though each record is available in only one of these languages, the quadrilingual thesaurus allows all the records to be searched by using the term code which is the same whatever the language of abstract. As in previous editions, the 2017 multilingual thesaurus is produced in the four official languages of ITRD. It comprises three volumes in each of the four languages. The main volume consists of a complete numerical list with terms given in all four languages. The second volume contains arrowed diagrams, one for each subject area, the terms on each diagram corresponding to the main terms in the numerical list. The third volume, which is an alphabetical list of terms, serves as a language index to the numerical list.

See, for example, the complete English alphabetical list with terms given in all the three other languages. (2016 edition)
