Transport and Covid-19: responses and resources

High-level Regional Dialogue for Latin American and the Caribbean 2025

ITF Meeting ITF Meeting

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications of the Dominican Republic, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), and the International Transport Forum (ITF), organises the leading ministerial meeting on transport in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The IDB has successfully held its Regional Policy Dialogue on an annual basis. Similarly, the ITF has convened the High-level Regional Dialogue for Latin America and the Caribbean each year, fostering the region’s connection with the ITF Annual Summit. For the first time, both organisations join to organise this high-level meeting; a unique event in international co-operation on transport and mobility.

This high-level meeting marks a milestone for the region, bringing together leading stakeholders to address the future of transport across countries. The event will gather ministers, secretaries, and authorities from North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. In addition, ministerial representatives from strategic regions including Europe and Asia enrich the global exchange of ideas and perspectives.

The agenda focuses on high-priority matters for the transport sector, including:

  • Public transport financing.
  • Integration of resilience criteria in infrastructure projects.
  • Regulatory and policy challenges.
  • Sectoral responses to global crises.
