ITF contributes to COP23 climate change conference
The International Transport Forum will bring its global expertise in transport policy to the 23rd Conference of Parties (COP23) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in a series of events and interventions. As co-organiser of the COP 23 "Transport Thematic Day" on Saturday, 11 November, the ITF will contribute to the COP process on issues ranging from the re-invention of urban mobility to decarbonising maritime transport. Secretary-General Young Tae Kim will speak on the need to scale up action and ambition on decarbonising transport at the opening session of the "Transport Thematic Day". He will also speak on the role of sustainable mobility in a changing climate at the side event organised by the Sustainable Mobility for All (SuM4All) initiative, in which the ITF partners with more than 50 other organisations and which has just published the first Global Mobility Report, and participate in the Climate Summit of Local and Regional Leaders organised ICLEI.
